Red face Moving to Fort Lauderdale

Hi, I live in Arizona and I am thinking about relocating to Fort Lauderdale...any suggestions on where to look for apartments that aren't outrageously priced but still somewhat near the beach?

My suggestion is to call a real estate agent or two here and tell them what you're looking for. The real estate slump is especially bad here and lot of condos that have been put on the market aren't selling, and sometimes the owners decide to hold onto them and rent them out. You might be able to find a good deal that way.

The ones I am thinking of... not sure of the name anymore, but they are right on the corner of Broward Blvd and NE 15t Ave. You wouldn't have a yard but you would have a small patio (ground floor) or terrace (upper floor)

150 NE 15th Ave Fort Lauderdale Fl 33301

It's about 2 blocks away from Las Olas, and only a short bike or roller blade ride down to the beach. Also, since it is right near downtown... there are ample places to work, shop and eat nearby --- when I lived there, I could go for days without driving. I recommend the bisque at Mango's!

Don't do it. You'll want to leave 5 months into your lease.

Fort Lauderdale is a popular place to hate. Regardless, it can be pretty nice, but there are a lot of folks who are convinced there is something out there that's so much better. These folks also in particular tend to be close minded, distrustful of people who are different from them, and/or have difficult finding employment.
