Once we all got over our obsessions with race, it won't matter how "Hispanic" or "white" an area is.

The US does not have an official language. English is the de facto language, however it's not official. Spanish is definitely the 2nd language of the US, just by sheer numbers alone.

Get Over it. People speak Spanish. So what? South Florida has long been a magnet for immigrants from south america and the caribbean.

Anyone that wants to achieve real financial success in the US will most likely HAVE TO speak English. Those that refuse to learn it or never learn English will always be at a disadvantage, so it's important to learn both. Spanish and English. Just because one lives in Hialeah doesn't mean learning English isn't important. If one ever wants to get out of little old Hialeah and lead a successful corporation or business or go to a top-ranked graduate school--they will have to learn English, otherwise risk staying in your little bubble in south fla, never to leave or experience true financial success.

This may be a bit off topic, but I detest when people use "DH." Is it that difficult to spell out the word "husband"?

Great post otherwise... I think it's great that we have areas in the U.S. where English isn't the main language.

Excuse me everyone, quick jump off topic, but;

Can you elaborate on why Miami is much better than Broward in your case? Just wondering for the purposes of future relocation.

Dade County is majority Latin. Broward has many hispanics but whites are still the majority but not by much. Broward has a larger black population than Dade and Palm Bch by percentage. S Broward seems to be more hispanic. Just check the demographics for each area to get a good example of population percentages.
