Default when not on curb for pickup, how far into your lot must your garbage can be?

Plantation specifically, but I am curious about Broward in general. I know you can't put your garbage can "out" more than 24 hours before pickup....but what constitutes "in?" I am a wee bit tired of seeing my neighbor's garbage can at the end of her driveway.

Yes, yes, I know I can call The City of Plantation and/or Waste Management. It's Sunday so just wondering if anyone here had an idea? Thanks!

If you live in an association they may have their own guidlines. However, "in" normally means out of plain view. So it would have to be hidden where someone standing in front of the house cannot see it.

But does it really bother you that much???

Yup! It sure does bother me. You think it is normal to look at a garbage can on the street every day? You think raccoons and stray dogs knocking it over and strewing garbage on the street, and then the garbage blowing onto your property is ok? Do you like guests visiting from out of town to find a used tampon applicator in your pool...or an empty beer can in your driveway?

No, I did not write a 3 paragraph essay explaining why I am asking this particular question. I asked it, hoping for an answer, not a snarky remark posing as a question. No association here, obviously if there was there would be guidelines I would know of.

Sooo...is there a certain # of feet it should be in off the street? Does anyone know? I will call tomorrow and find out and report back with the info.

I did give you an answer. Did you completely skip the first two lines and just read the last one? Judging by your response and the whole reason for your thread, I can see you are one of "those" people...

lol, yes, you know me so well. And you must be one of "those people" that lets their garbage end up in neighbor's yards and can't understand what the problem is.

You did give me an answer, it was vague. You followed up with a personal question, so I answered you. Then I simply asked if anyone else had the answer to my original post.

Nope. My association enforces it so no worries here. You did however suggest I made a "snarky remark."
