Need to move out of New York before another winter or grey water summer. Fort Lauderdale seems like a good area. Ideally I want to locate a retirement community for myself (60 years young woman and a veteran) and an assisted living, wheelchair accessible situation for my 23 year old daughter.
She has been living in a group home in Tennessee with state funding. She has Cerebral Palsy. The state funded home provides the 24/7 staffing she needs but little else. This was her choice to live independently but now she wants to move closer to me. She needs a staff. We had aides come to the house to help for years and that was just a mess. The group homes promise big things but in the end they turn out to be another government run/cover their asses bureaucracy that treat all residents the same regardless of their abilities. I've got to get her out of there ASAP. Willing to move to another city if you know of one that has what my daughter needs. Help! Thanks.
