Looking for some pleasant beaches that aren't too crowded and are suitable for families with kids. We don't mind a drive from Weston and we plan to explore all over Florida while we are there, but for weekday/weekend beach trips with the kids,we'd love some recommendations.

Thanks!

There's Harbor Beach, and also the whole area around Galt Mile/Lauderdale-by-the-Sea/Sea Ranches; generally they tend to be less crowded and quieter (plus more family friendly) beaches.

+1 for Harbor Beach, but I am not sure about where you can park... But if you join the Lago Mar Beach Club (it is at the Lago Mar resort), you can go there and park there any time and use all their great facilities.

I also like the Red Reef beach in Boca.

Hollywood Beach is quite nice - very lively with all kinds of food options along the beach. Or you can go to the North Hollywood beach if you want it quiet.

Also if you drive fast enough, you can get to Naples and Marco Island in just about 1 hour

We've been to Hollywood from Weston several times. There are two parking garages that we have found (thanks to advice here!!), one is right by a playground, the other right by a splash pad/fountains. So, those are both pros in our book. The splash pad one is between Connecticut and Garfield St. The playground between Johnson and Michigan.

We haven't explored any other beaches, but plan to!

Hollywood Beach is another good idea, forgot about it...I've walked through the boardwalk several times, never had any issues. It looks family friendly, I'm just not 100% sure really.

I also like Hollywood beach because there are no cars between restaurants/shops and the beach. The Broadwalk only allows pedestrians and bikes.

Are there any beaches like that in S. FL?

Thank you! This is all very helpful information!

Ruski, I hadn't even thought about heading the other direction. Good thinking! We'll definitely want to hit Naples and Marco Island as well.
