south florida in general is grossly underreported i'd bet. what you hear (sirens) and see (corruption) doesn't match up with the stats (safe).

Between University and Royal Palm are the duplexes which aren't all that bad although yes there is some gangs, than it gets nice for a little while again along Sample east of Royal Palm. Then you go east of 7 and you are basically in the real ghetto(west Pompano).

Pompano Beach is the worst city in Broward county crime-wise and one of the most dangerous cities in the entire country (I remember it being in the top 200 most dangerous cities list). However, there are a few nice areas of it, but they're slim and are mighty close to bad areas.

The city of Fort Lauderdale has lots of questionable areas, as do Lauderhill and Hollywood. But Coral Springs? C'mon...

They just had those two clerks shot in the gas station in Pompano too. And you can't forget about Sgt. Reyka, bless all of them and their family. Really just sad. And unlike Hollywood, Pompano really just isn't reinventing itself or making progress.

Well, I Guess it had made some progress. It used to be one of the 25 most dangerous in the country. No such honor anymore.

Every area is going to under report crime. Its common sense that the local powers want crime stats as low as possible. They need to attract residents and businesses.

South Florida would not be unique in under reporting crime.

Thanks for the correction. I still believe the area north of Broward Blvd on the 441 corridor, though not the worst....is not an ideal area at all. It's all subjective, I suppose.

your 100% right it ISN'T ideal, but you don't have to worry to much about gangs or crack sales on the corners.

Default Camden Las Olas

Does anyone have something to say about Camden Las Olas (apartments) at US 1 & SE 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale? More specifically, about the neighborhood that surrounds that building complex?
