My goal is to rent house, at least a 2/2 but preferably a 3/2/, not too far from a Whole Foods Market

Any recommendations for a nice area would be appreciated. I want something with a fenced yard for "Jack" the rambunctious Rat Terrier, and in a walkable community.

I have submitted many threads in other cities in Florida and some in California, so it's obvious that I still don't have a clue where to relocate. However, advice and suggestions from CD members are very respected THANKS for any responses !

Since the house will be share with my daughter, I'd say our budget would be around 2K per month

Look at area codes 33301, 33304, 33308. These are all adjacent to the WF located in East Fort Lauderdale.

FYI: The Whole Foods location on the map at 6451 N. Federal Highway is less than five minutes from where we live, but it's a regional office and not a store. As far as I know, groceries aren't sold there. It takes someone living near that regional office about 10 minutes to get to the store further south on Federal Highway.

Davie! You'll live next to the newest and largest Whole Foods in the area. It's opens next year sometime and meanwhile the current store is maybe one quarter mile away, in the Fountains on University just north of 595. That is technically Plantation, which I believe is slightly more expensive. I think you will get more for your money south of 595, which is where the new Whole Foods will be.

Papillon is correct, the Whole Foods at that location is a corporate office. They are building another new store on Federal and Copans, but I don't believe you will find a house for $2,000 in a safe neighborhood anywhere nearby.

And as for walkable, South Florida is not really made that way. Good luck finding your new home, wherever you land!
