yeah, I was friends with and went to high school with one of the victims (Thomas Lima) and his murderer also...its a sad story on how it went down..THIS IS HOW I HEARD IT SO ANY COPS READING THIS I WAS NOT THERE..I guess they pulled up next to each other in traffic (mind you, they already didn't get along)..Thomas was in the driver passenger seat, and Everett (his killer) was to his right in another car. Thomas' friends started throwing pennies at Everett's car, so Everett reached for his gun, and Thomas' friend yelled "duck!", and everyone ducked..except Thomas..he was shot in the head..Only 18 years old..

Here is last year's murder map of PBC:
Homicides in the Palm Beach County for 2006 (broken link)
It's shocking how close some of them were to me.

The police here in Coral Springs are fairly visible so I don't see that changing.

Not long. I wondered about that myself when I saw that crime rates are lower in those communities. It won't take long for "visitors" or residents to make trouble. hate to be so sour on things but it won't take long. We live in Lauderhill, in a pretty good development, but just a few blocks down are some of the worst crime areas. Doesn't make you feel too good knowing that trouble is just a bus ride or car ride or walk away. Even a gated community, unless there are high fences, have many access places for outsiders to walk in.

I was pregnant at the time and was going to name my son Andrew Joesph and call him A.J. for short. Even though we did not know this little boy, all my family and friends begged me not to name my son A.J. as it would always remind them of this poor little A.J. Schultz. Notice though, I never forgot his name even though I did not name my son A.J. So sad.

Cindi..is the area your from inverrary?? It is a pretty good part of Lauderhill..but you right. Just Down 56th Ave. takes you into a very dangerous area notoriously known as "deepside" and "shallow side". In that area, drugs, violence, murder, and many other extreme crimes are committed often..
