Which do you guys recommend for a young family?

Which do you guys prefer personally?

Are they very different places to live or not? Why

Are they both expensive? How are each of the schools?

What counties are they located in? Both Broward?

I grew up in Pembroke Pines and now live in Boca. I personally love Boca a lot more.

For me Pines is more culturally diverse, but Boca has everything and you don't have to leave Boca if you don't want to. The beaches are nearby and Pines is pretty west of the beaches.

Boca is more expensive than Pines and has better schools.

Boca is in Palm Beach county Pines is in Broward.

Boca in Palm Beach County is known for having for good schools and like was said is more expensive but I think you can go wrong with either of them. If more economic , racial diversity is a big deal to you then Pembroke Pines is more your style which is located in Broward. If you look at Boca look at West Boca because that's where the newer suburbs are with tons of young families. Boca has reputation of old money so it might be a bit pretentious.

Boca easily...

Pines is crap in comparison. Boca has everything and it's nicer to look at. Pines is just 90s style suburbia.
Boca actually has places to hang out like Mizner, and downtown boca east of US 1 and palmetto is cute.

If it fits your budget and commute, Boca is a better choice.

If you want to retire move to Boca Raton Pembroke Pines is a lot more family oriented and jam packed with year round sports(up to age 17), city sponsored activities & festivals and numerous summer camps. Pines is also centrally located between Miami and Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood area. The neighboring cities around Boca Raton are more of the same mostly retirees and drug rehab facilities.

Pines is boring suburbia and less upscale. Plus, you'll have to deal with all of the Century Village retirees in Pines.
