How is the local area economy in Ft. lauderdale nowadays?....
Any growth sectors and are housing prices starting to normalize now, or was it hit hard at all? |

Housing prices are still declining. I think the local economy is ok outside of the housing decline. There are still jobs, even though they do not pay as well as they need to pay to support housing prices.

That's an accurate assessment of the situation. Anything housing-related -- real estate, mortgage companies, banking, construction -- is struggling. Most other sectors of the economy seem to be chugging along. Tourism has been strong this winter, which helps.
