Thanks for feedback. I haven't really worked with servers since moving over to Cisco. Got outdated Microsoft certs NT . I went thru the 2000 courses but didn't persue certifications. Once I finish CCNP plan on persuing CCIE and some current Microsoft certs just to be more well rounded. There seems to be more Server/Microsoft positions available but Cisco pays better. I will persue the Microsoft to fall back on as plan B. You would think with the lack of supply the pay would be better for local Network Engineers. I really enjoy the training side of it. If I can find work training I would love that! Even at the high schools that have Cisco Academies.

for highschools look into south plantation. Also look into Broward Community College and Miami dade community college for teaching opps.

I'm from Oakland County, MI and moved to Brevard County, FL. (space Coast) I'm very familiar with the excellent schools in W. Bloomfield, Bloomfield, and Beverly Hills. From what I understand it will be hard to find the same quality schools down here.

This seems to be the area for more engineering and technical jobs. I would suggest securing a job before moving. The pay scale down here is different.

Homes here have no basements. I find groceries here to be much higher.

I think the previous posts also give you valuable info.

Thanx for your info Mazenblue, i will be taking a trip to the area this summer, but from most of the feedback i've been getting I think I will probably be going to TX and maybe settle down in FL in about 6 yrs. when the last child has finished school. Economically it looks like TX has more to offer and the weathers not too bad in the winter especially in comparison to MI. We have been averaging 1 winter storm per wk. It is supposed to be 48 degrees today (heat wave) and a severe winter storm tomorrow and Tues what fun :-(
