The schools are also quite a bit better as far as public goes but Coral Springs has way more to do in the way of dining and activities for kids and adults.
10th safest in 2006 according to compelled to reply...

Chartered in 1963, Coral Springs is a community in Broward County located northwest of the city of Fort Lauderdale. Inhabited by 117,549 residents (according to the 2000 census) Coral Springs features lively neighborhoods, a multitude of parks, a regional mall, and outstanding recreational facilities.
Coral Springs holds several accolades including being named the 27th best city in the United States in which to live (Money Magazine, 2006), the 10th safest city in the US (Morgan Quitno, 2007) and one of the 100 best communities for kids (America’s Promise, 2007).

Funny, Coral Springs is more congested to me in my eyes. Not too congested, but you have some busy streets passing through. I find Cooper City quieter and less crowded . The busiest street is Stirling Rd and that road is practically deserted compared to Universtiy Dr or Sample. But yeah, Morgan-Quitno only ranks cities of 75 thousand or more I believe, thus Cooper City not being on the list. Not knocking on Coral Springs either but it pretty much depends on what you want. Their both good places to live but in my opinion Cooper City is quieter and better for families. Coral Springs schools have declined a bit over the past 10 years and there seem to be more "Wannabe gangsters" ESPECIALLY compared to Cooper City (not saying they don't exist there but it's not widespread).

Yes! I agree! SW Ranches is Fantastic! I love it! In fact it borders Cooper City on the West. However.....most people can't afford SW Ranches, since all the homes are on at least 1 Acre. And 1 acre is typically going for $500,000. (without a house). At least the last time I priced acreage which was about 6 years ago thats how much it was.

Default Cooper City over Coral Springs anyday

The poster that said Coral Springs has more "wannabe gangsters" is very very accurate. True there are good areas of Coral Springs. However there is a large part of Coral Springs that is horrible! It is a larger city, which probably accounts for alot of the problem areas it has.

Many people live in Broward and commute to Dade for work. MOST of those folks don't want to go as far as Coral Springs to live. In fact many people that work in Fort Lauderdale even - don't want Weston, or Coral Springs just due to the distance, but they do want the "burbs" that are closer in such as Cooper City. I've worked in the Real Estate Home Rental business, and spoke to thousands of callers inquiring on ads for all areas. Coral Springs and Weston are in much less demand than Cooper City. When a decent home (clean priced fair) goes on the market in Cooper City it will be rented within hours. The same decent home in Weston, or Coral Springs can sit on the market for months. And that is just the rental market. Also, Coral Springs doesn't have the advantage for renting that Cooper City does with all the colleges and universities in close proximity. As gas prices increase the demand for more convenient locations will only increase.

Don't get me wrong, there are some nice neighborhoods of Coral Springs. I just would not want to live there, nor would I recommend it, especially for resale.
