As someone who lives right off Las Olas, the only other places I would consider (and we LOVE Las Olas) are downtown WPB, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, and Delray Beach in the Atlantic Avenue area.

Himmarshee is kind of cute but small and more Las Olas-ish.

First, nothing in Broward County or beyond compares to Brickell or South Beach in walkability.

Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale Beach, and downtown Hollywood are the only walkable areas of Broward County. By walkable, I mean you can live in these areas without needing a car, other than to commute to work. There are grocery stores, restaurants, shops, and entertainment walkable from a condo building.

I do not consider Sawgrass Mills a walkable area since everything is spread out so far. Other than the mall itself, nothing is walkable around there. And how often do you need to go to the mall? Once they build that city-center, things get more interesting.

Downtown West Palm, downtown Delray Beach, and to a lesser extend Mizner Park (Boca Raton), are walkable areas in Palm Beach County.

Once Metropica is built in the Sawgrass Mall area, things will get mode walkable there.
