It's a nice area, with good schools. Very nice overall.

Schools really aren't that good past the elementary side, in fact on the south side they are horrific, so that's bad advice.
Anyway, it is accurate to say that it's mostly a nice area. There aren't really any "bad areas" but the south side is full of condo conversions/apartment complexes with some less than savory tenants, while the north side tends to be cleaner and more single family home/townhome oriented, with the occasional apartment complexes, mobile home park (Clean ones) and little pockets of preserved "rural". According to city-data it's one of the 100 safest cities in the country, for what it's worth, but I have to say that it's generally a clean area. Just don't rent in a complex or condo conversion complex. Last edited by compelled to reply; 03-08-2008 at 10:49 AM.. |

I do not have much experience with the area itself, but I have driven through it and wasn't impressed. It reminds me of a typical Broward area - kinda generic and brown looking, and even congested in terms of traffic.

We just moved to Coconut Creek, and we find in pretty laid back. Not like in most area's of Broward County with people hanging out on street corners, or there being alot of crime. We live off Of Hillsboro, and there are very nice homes in this area.

Seriously though, I could see how you feel that way in Coconut Creek. Your actually kind of close to bad areas and south Creek isn't really very good. If you moved there with kids older than elementary age, keep a very strong eye on them if you are using the public schools. Coconut Creek schools are not as safe as some of the other districts to the west. But north Creek is pretty clean. Last edited by compelled to reply; 03-18-2008 at 01:52 PM.. |

I've lived in the area for over 15 years.
I agree with Compelled to Reply. North Creek is the route to go. It's newer. South Creek is older. |

Which area is considered "South Creek"? I am also looking at Whispering Pines -- just North of Sample by Vista BMW. I like the style of the townhouses very much. Thanks for your help..... |
