Good Afternoon/Evening to all,

My wife and I currently live in the Bay Area (California), and I have recently been offered a promotion which will require a relocation to the Miami / Ft Lauderdale area. I would be required to live within 50 miles of Miami. As far as commute goes, I will literally be in new areas, cities, towns, etc...each day so there’s that.

About us- We are both mid-twenties, no kids, active outdoorsy people. We DONT want to live within the actual city of Miami, we actually prefer the suburb life. Somewhere safe is the main priority. Being close to some restaurants (chain or local), shopping, etc...is also a plus. We also love the water, and have our own paddle boards, so being within 30-45 minutes of the beach/ocean would be nice as well.

Budget- We currently pay $2100 for a 2bd 1bath apartment, about 40 minutes from San Francisco. For renting, I would say staying $2500 or below would be ideal. We consider buying after a year if we enjoy the area enough, and I’d say $500K or below would be ideal for buying. I’ve looked online and have seen some decent townhomes well within our budget, so that’s promising.

Basically just looking for some recommendations on places that could work for us. All help appreciated!

Broward County is not exactly Casablanca and I'm no Claude Reins but might as well Round Up The Usual Suspects--Weston, west Pembroke Pines, Cooper City & Davie.

I would suggest Fort Lauderdale and and if townhouse is not a must have there is place called Galt Ocean Dr. You still can buy an apartment under 500 000$, you are on the side of the main street with convenience store and quite a few restaraunts just across that first street before main one...I almost forgot to mention that buildings are directly on the beach, something that you only can dream about for that money in California.
