Am relocating to south Florida from NEWYORK I want to know if anyone is familiar with heron bay the vistas gated community my biggest concern is I have heard that alligators come up in yards and all that I want to know if this accurate as I have young children am a nurse and will be working late hours don’t want to have to be on my ps and qs scared out my mind looking around for alligators please let me know if your familiar with the area is it a good place to live and raise children is it a rascist community any feed back will be helpful thanks

If you are referring to Parkland then they do find alligators there on occasion, here is one from last year.

Nothing to worry about normally, alligators are normally afraid of people unless the people foolishly try feeding them, which BTW is illegal to do. Now dogs and cats may not be safe near water anywhere out west, I do not think I have heard or read about any children being attacked unless the children were in the water.

As for how they get in fenced yards, fences are most often off the ground in spots where the land slopes or there are bushes the gators can enter through.

If you buy a house anywhere out west on the water in South Florida then there is a chance of gators or snakes.
