I was born in Broward General in 1960... I lived in Wilton Manors until I grew up and got my own place in Oakland Park.
I left South Florida in 1986 - I've been back, but like they say, you can't ever go back... It's not at ALL what it once was when I was young...

The house my parents bought when they got married - off of NE 26th Street and 17th Terrace behind the board of realtors was 19,900 in 1957... When mom and dad moved (to Tallahassee) in 1982, it sold for $129something... Today, it's valued at 300k... oh the times they are a changin'.....

Beautiful shots... Do you have any old pictures of Ft. Lauderdale?

Pictures that are posted by these folks are THEIR works... Their eye for beauty... It's quite obvious that YOU don't see any beauty in their creations.

You know the saying that if you can't find anything nice to say... yeah, I kinda blew that too....

Enjoy your trip... one way I hope. Maybe then traffic will be more tolerable without you on the road.

I grew up swimming in the Atlantic ocean (Massachusetts) however, I have lived out west for nearly 20 years and became familiar with the Pacific. Seeing these pictures makes me want to visit the Atlantic ocean again!
