Hello All,

Look like I will be relocating to the area and Weston looks pretty favorable. Question - are there any neighborhoods in Weston that will allow you to bring your boat home on the weekend to load/unload, wash etc.. I realize I will need permanent storage. This is the way it worked with most HOAs around here at least.

Never seen such activities in anyone's driveway in Weston.

If you get dry storage for your boat, they will wash it for you for a fee.

Doubtful you will be able to wash your boat in the driveway. I'm sure you'd start getting letters and fines from the HOA.

That's a No No here in Weston.

Weston has a tough HOA. Be prepared.

I'm not convinced this would be a problem. Are you talking about just bringing the boat home for an hour or two so you can wash it in your driveway and load it up? Overnight, probably an issue, though. I would reach out to a couple of the HOA property management companies and ask, also request to review their docs.

One of the things that's scarring me off of the area. I get the want the area to look uniform but dropping $800k on a house and having a board of people with lest style and old rules dictate everything it a bit much.

These are likely city codes, on top of HOA rules.

Personally, I'd bring home the SS Minnow and tell them that you read it on City Data from a guy named Hot and Humid that you have the right as an American to wash your boat in your yard anytime you want! Tell them that Noah had an Ark even though his HOA complained about it and when Florida floods you want to be prepared!

Weeellll, it's been a few years since we left Weston, but our neighbor did clean his boat in his driveway without any backlash. Then he parked it in his garage. The board sent lots of letters regarding roof cleaning and landscaping, but left the boat owner alone. We lived in The Landings. I wonder if the OP's question has ever been address in HOA documents.
