They are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Oakland Park is seeing a lot of high income earners paying 400-500 for those North Andrew’s Gardens ranches. The new build 3 bedroom homes in the community just west of 95 are going for a million, now. Insane.

Some people say it is changing for the better and some people say it is dangerous. We live in NYC right now.

Any input would be great!

Hi. I lived adjacent to that area (on the border between Oakland Park and Fort Lauderdale but always on the FL side) between 2010-2019. I'd say it's better to be east than west. I never got the impression it was dangerous.

I'd say you're in a pretty good spot. You're relatively close to the beach and some nice neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale. I like the L.A. Fitness gym on US 1 that's close to you. You're in between several Publix for groceries and there's a Whole Foods further down on US1 and a Trader Joe's about 10 blocks further down.

It's pretty easy to get around and navigate. Most places will be on US1 or Commercial or pretty easy to get to from there. I'm not gay myself, but the gay male social scene seems like one of the best in the country. I haven't been there during Corona and how that affected things, but it's bouncing back here (in Boston) and I would imagine there as well, although they do have more active cases.
