You can't really disagree with facts, but the fact is that was for the city of Miami, which is a cesspool. That was not even for Miami-Dade County, and also, this isn't the Miami forum. According to the 06 census 87% of Broward County residents have high school diplomas, compared to a national average of 84.1%. Not amazing but not third world horrific like the city of Miami, which once again, has absolutely nothing to do with this subforum at all.

Sorry, but no. If you look at the methodology description of that Brookings study, you'll see that the data were amassed from Miami-Dade county...not just the city of Miami proper.
And, the last time I checked, Miami-Dade made up a sizable fraction of what is considered to be south Florida.
Dismissing the numbers by claiming that they're irrelevant to this subforum is ridiculous. Those data were posted in reference to the following quote, which was made previously in this thread:

Why is it ridiculous? This forum is designated exclusively for Broward County, which as already shown, did quite a bit better than Miami (allegedly Miami-Dade). Miami-Dade County has it's own subforum and it's own issues. There is no "South Florida" subforum. All I know is that the figures in your chart exactly match the 2000 census count for the CITY of Miami, as seen here

Miami-Dade County was mediocre, but a lot better. Broward County, which is what this section of forum covers, exceeded the national average in overall education level, but no, did not exceed the city of Atlanta.
And the real bottom line remains that this is a thread about rude people in the Ft. Lauderdale area. There is a separate forum that you could start a thread for discussing the absurdly low educational levels in the city of Miami compared to other large cities.

No, sir, it is not. Read the OP's first post. It was supposed to be a thread about phony, sleazy people and how difficult it is to get to know others in the area.
But, as threads tend to do, this one went off on a few tangents. And, the question about south Florida vs. Atlanta "professionals and educated people" was one of them.
