Default moving to Fort Lauderdale area

Need help in looking for dog-friendly neighborhoods with large lot sizes.
Where would be good, safe, places to look at buying houses?
I have two large dog and several cats.

Most of the newer housing developments in Ft. lauderdale area are zero lot lines so the lot sizes are very Small. If you want houses with bigger lots and huge backyards, you should consider older houses.... Davie and Southwest Ranches are westers suburbs which have houses on big lots (lots of houses with more than an acre). Old Plantation is also another possibility since it is very family oriented area, very central and has variety of housing options.

Feel free to PM me if you need more details about the availability/pricing etc, and I will try to do my best!

The Davie area has been struggling to keep its rural look, with a little larger lots and a little goofy downtown look. The neighboring towns may have similar properties. Overall, Broward County ahs great dog parks and more dog beaches are being advocated for. I have two big canines myself and I live on Hollywood intercoastal. My dogs have never suffered from lack of excercise. I can't wait for my puppy, a yellow lab, to be ready to jump in the water!

Default Home in Ft Lauderdale Suburb

I have lived in Coral Springs for 20 years. It has a great family atmosphere within driving distance of downtown Ft Laud and the beach. I would not live any other place in Broward County other than on the beach - which is way out of my price range. My home, for example is a lager lot (12 000 square feet), I have two young kids and 2 dogs. We met our entire neighborhood by walking our dogs when we moved here a few years ago - it seemed that almost everyone in this neighborhood has dogs. The schools are a rated and there are tons of parks in Coral Springs. In fact I have just been relocated to Raleigh NC and have just lisetd my home. You ca see it on the web at http://users.myacc.net/~jgoodman/forsale (broken link) - I am not trying to sell you my home (although if interested that would be great), but to give you the perspective of what an older home looks like in Coral Springs. They do have a lot of newer construction (1995 and up) but they have much smaller lots as they began to change building restrictions about that time where developers were able to build more homes per acre in return for money for roads and schools and other considerations. GOod Luck.
