Can a family size 3-4, one child will be away at college bringing family size down to 3 with an annual income of approx 150k afford to live in Weston? Single parent who is in IT field (Cisco Network Engineer). How is IT field in the area. If Weston not affordable where else comparable in salary range.

Your family can EASILY afford to live in Weston with that income. I believe that the median family income in the area is around $100,000. You can afford to live in ANY nice city around Weston and will be able to afford most upscale, gated neighborhoods.

Truthfully a good amount of the negative posts you will read will either be directly or indirectly against the large Hispanic population in the area and may or may not be accurate, and you will read people on indirectly blaming them for problems that may or may not really be true, claiming that they don't speak any English or that the neighborhoods are rowdy because of the Hispanic influence. It's amazing how xenophobic some people are. They will also tell you the people are "rude". Hmm, reading some of the posts, I wonder why? To me, the most negative thing about Weston is that everything looks the same/subdivision after subdivision. Don't get me wrong, the landscaping that they use is tasteful, there isn't a lot of tacky "walled" type communities (they build these big landscaped mounds instead) and you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner looking city, but I just wish there was more variation. The other problem with it (this is subjective) is all of the codes and deed restrictions that come with living in such an envrionment. This makes for a very good envrionment for a renter, but I'm not sure that I would buy here. I would probably look at non-HOA communities in Cooper City or if I had the cash, SW Ranches.
