Hello,

My Fiance might take a job downtown Ft. Lauderdale - we're looking at where to live. I might either work in Ft. Lauderdale OR Downtown Miami - where should we live?

I would LOVE a gated community for rent with pool, fitness, backyard, walking paths, shopping around etc. We would like to buy within a year.

Please help - I DON'T want a long commute either

Thank you!

Kristen

Check out Port Royale off of US1 in Ft. Lauderdale and look no further.

Wild Style,

If you live in Ft. Lauderdale, you will NOT want to work in Miami...the traffic SUCKS big time, especially during the hot and humid months here, which are generally from April through December. : /

It's towards Cypress Creek Rd near Imperial Point Hospital. It's pretty far north though, almost to Pompano.

from Broward blvd I go north on US1 and its round there then? That would be a horrid commute for the OP though wouldn't it? I am asking because my lease is up in October. If I don't get a job in NYC before October I am stuck here for another year, so I am trying to sort out alternatives/options.

Stuck here in the pit of hell!

The commute is potentially not too bad. I would personally take US1 down to Oakland Park and transfer to A1A (not Commercial because A1A is smaller there). If it's "season" then I would take Dixie Hwy. Yes, US1 would definitely be a drag.
