It doesn't have to be anything extreme. But people like it when a candidate shows they put some effort into the interview. Like they really cared enough. Just means shave, hair cut even if it's long but not a big mess, and presentable clothes. Even if they are from the consignment store it's not the price its that they are clean and even pressed looking.

It reflects that you will probably take the same care with your job.

My kid is in the music business and the look is not clean shaven. But he will change his look for certain reasons/occasions because he knows he'll be treated with more respect. Not a sellout, just respecting the other people, like he wants to be respected. If you want what someone else can offer you it's their ballgame.

I hope you are successful, you obviously do want to do well, and just keep focused (speaking as a mom).

If you are making $11 an hour or less, then it's your own fault. Go to school or college and get a degree. However, none of this changes the fact that South Florida, Tampa and Orlando have all become crime-ridden cesspools of illegal immigrants. Can't wait to leave this area.

Hello, am trying to move to South Florida..If you think that the South Florida economy is bad, then you should try living in Michigan..
However, thats not the reason am moving there..Am disabled with Multiple Sclerosis and living in Michigan is not helping..
I'd like to know if it is possible for me to survive on $1,800.00 a month down there..All I need is a studio apartment..I have no car payment..
Is it possible to find something in a relatively safe area?
Thanks for any tips..

Probably...especially if it's 1800.00 after taxes. There are some 1 BR condos in Tamarac in Broward county for 600 -750 ....actually they might even be 500 or 550 I forget I havent looked lately....and some of them have community bus for shopping trips. I'm thinking of Lime Bay they looked surprisingly nice to me for the money from the outside. The neighborhood is good. I don't recall any shopping right next door, though. Also in Coconut Creek. Both are 55+ that I'm talking about. I never looked at studios but there are some ...perhaps downtown Ft Lauderdale too if there'd be better access to shopping etc.

IMO you'd be fine in Florida compared to Michigan. It's just finding the "right" neighborhood.

Here in Vero Beach there are condos in 55+ for 450.00 believe it or not. I forget if they have a bus though. It's super super safe here and very nice. Called Vista Royale if you go look on realtor dot com. they are the first several pages.

The trick will be renting from a stable owner that isn't in financial trouble, imo. There's alot of that going on here now. And if you have a medical problem the last thing you need is to move twice quickly.

Go on Realtor dot com for a general idea. Click on rentals and put different towns in.

LOL I just heard a commercial for Centex, 2 DAY ONLY SALE....ooooh lemme run right over. (they are the same builder here that has had the same 14 lots available since Feb)

If you are careful with your money you should be OK. They also have the National Multiple Sclerosis center in Ft. Lauderdale.

You should be able to get a reduced cost on rent due to the disability. You should be fine if you know how to manage your money.

How does the reduced cost on rent due to disability work?

Do you mean section 8?

Section 8 is a great plan. I rented a house to a section 8 family once and it was trashed in about 3 months. I had to completely renovate it. Never again.
