I hate apartment life
Why ? Cause when your low class neighbor is having problems, you share it right along with them since they are literally a stone's throw away ! We have these Jamaican people living next door..actually very nice father and mother and son. The girl though is messed up...royally. I think she is a drug addict and once in a while goes off the deep end. Last night was one of those nights...actually all day and night. It was an all nighter for her and it kinda ruined my night for me too.
I guess school is out or something. All day yesterday from 12pm till 7pm they were playing loud music...but with that deep annoying bass that gives me a lot of anxiety. I didn't call the cops because I thought they would stop soon.....I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. They didn't stop. On and off for 7 hours.
I fell asleep at 11pm last night and at 4am I here my dogs barking like crazy. I get up and go to the sliding door and I here kids talking loudly. Luckily I could not here it from my bedroom window. It sounded like the girl had some male friends over.
Anyhow....after 4am, I tried, but couldn't really fall asleep again. Now I am mad. 6am I get up and come to my computer to surf the net. It's light out side and I can finally see outside...I take a peek through the blinds and I see the girl...ALL messed up after pulling an all nighter with her "boyfriend" that couldn't have been more than 18. I guess the brother woke up and found his sister hanging out with the "boyfriend" that they all seem to dissaprove of because he is supporting her habit and influencing her negatively I am sure. So it's 6am and I here the brother SCREAMING out to the "boyfriend" to get out of here and get the F&$# out of his house. I think he woke up the whole apartment complex with that yell....I mean he belted out whatever his lungs could produce. So the "boyfriend" all messed up...rides away on his bike with his jeans practically falling off of him....if he were driving, he would have wrecked is how inebriated he was.
So at 6:15am, I take my dogs out for their morning walk. And guess who comes out of her apartment ? The messed up girl and now I can take a good look at her....she is MESSED up beyond belief. I mean a hardcore mix of drugs and alcohol. She is having involuntary movement of her mouth and jaw muscles (extrapyramidal side effects I am sure). She starts walking on the sidewalks calling something out...loud. Poor thing....
Another night in Coral Springs.........
Can't wait to move out !!! No more apartments EVER for me

After 5 years living in college apartments, I no longer blame it on apartments, I blame it on people. I hate inconsiderate people. I hope your day gets better!

Dang, I remember those days and dread it everytime when I think about that. I had the worst times with apartments living near college kids or in a college area. Reminds me to whip my son and teach him manners and be considerate of others when he goes off to school. I did really enjoy renting a townhouse in The Township in Coconut Creek for 2 years before buying a house. Other than my car being stolen by kids from Green Acres at the complex, everything else was really nice.

I don't mind apartments at all, in fact I love living in apartments. It's the people that are inconsiderate and can ruin your day sometimes.

I would say 70% of the people that live in apartments have issues going on in their life that prevent them from owning a home. A lot of those issues are reflected in their character and the way they conduct themselves as human beings.

I'd say it depends. If we're talking locally, maybe. Sometimes I think some people have a negative view of an apartment, and although I'm not saying it's all peaches and cream and you'll never encounter problems with neighbors. I don't think it's that bad if you live in a good building in a nice area. If you're living in a sketchy area, than your neighbors will probably reflect that. But I doubt apartments in say Brickell, Boca Raton, or Coral Gables are like that.

I lived in apartments for 20+ years and never had a problem. I loved apartment life. I never came across this situation. Very sad.
Heydade, calling 911 was probably the best thing anyone could have done for her. They probably Baker Acted her. Hopefully she's getting the psych and med care she needs. I think you did the right thing. You really are a "Humanitarian Vigilante!"
