No need for apologies.
I will agree with with all the odd numbers.

#1, you are right about that. No arguments there.

#3, I give it to you again. Some good soccer matches in Kendall or Brian Young park, you will see the same. All islands, and latin American presentation enjoying a good game of the real "football" as the world calls it.

#5, I will agree there is a good mix of food, although quality Chinese food is lacking. There are a few here and there. I'm very picky about that. This isn't NY , I know. The Caribbean spots are good here, no lie about that. latin food is dime a dozen, and pretty good all over. Lack of African and European cuisine here. Not many falafel spots, no Ethiopian, Western African spots that I know of....Depends on your taste buds. I love variety.

#7...Although there is good police presence, I will give you that...Have you been to NYC?.../...<---------My feelings about the topic..

Come to Broward we have a good Persian spot on Sunrise blvd. There is good Ethiopian spot in northern Miami (haven't been there, just been told). Arabic restaurants here suck for the most part.

#1 - Gangs, and I mean real gangs, not what you see here. Your local gangs here are more a nuisance than a gang. Go to Cali, Phoenix, Denver or even the Capital DC, and you will see what I mean, MS13, Bloods, Crips, Motor cycle gangs, trust me we don't have that here. No real gang problem, I agree
#2 - Traffic - I laugh at traffic here, try living in Philly, DC or LA. Done. I-95 is absurd heading south certain times of the day but other than that not so bad.
#3 - Flavor - Most other places in the US, you are either white or Black. The other day I watched a pickup soccer game and saw jersey's from Haiti, Brazil, Colombia, Mexica, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Trinidad, Spain and Cameroon. Plus a bunch players with no shirts. And this was in Lauderhill, the supposed hub of Jamaican activity in Broward. And guess what? every player spoke soccer. While we are probably lacking in Asian and Indians, trust me they are coming. For those of us from NYC and other major cities, we chuckle at this one.
#4 - Culture - I saw king Tut's Exhibit one night and went to Zoe's Summer groove the next night. Enough Said. *see #3
#5 - Food - As good as anyplace in the country. The Brazilian Steakhouses are phenomonal, the Jerk Chicken Franchises are great, and the Elbow Room (right on the Beach) has a 4$ beer and wings night. I don't even want begin singing the praises of the seafood we take for granted. *see #3
#6 - Weather - Yes, I know it is too hot in the summer, and yes I like watching the change in seasons as much as anybody else. However, I don't have to buy winter clothes, I wear a coat once a year when I go see family in NYC. And the best of the best, I can call my sis from the beach with the breeze blowing through my bathing suit while she is waiting at a bus stop in 5 degree weather. This is subjective
#7 - Police presence - This may be the most controversial, but i have to say, there are a lot more police here than in other metropolitan areas in the country. And I am talking about big cities like San Antonio, Tucson, Denver and St. Louis. * see #3

If I have offended anyone, I am sorry, but this is my truth about this area and I like it here. I think I will like it better in Orlando, but there is no beach and that is something I really like about the 305, 954 and 561.
See my bold comments

Default Nothing Compares to NYC

To those who keep bringing up NYC, I am a native New Yorker. I have total respect for all things great about the city. Notice no where in my comments did I make reference to NY. Reasoning? NYC is one of the most recognizable cities in the world. As such, I would not make NYC representative of the rest of the country. There is an entire United States that does not include NYC. Would you compare Toulouse France and Paris? Would you compare Rio to Campo Grande?, Would you compare Beijing and Chengdu? You cannot. NYC is what it is, and many people prefer places other than the largest most populated cities in their respective countries. My only point was, with all the "why do you hate this place" stuff going around, I thought I would give you a perspective of other places and maybe some of the hate fuel can be taken away from the fire.

Go Giants, (even if they are in NJ)
