Ahh... the American flag, I dont see too many of those. I see more Puerto-Rican flags for sure than any other flags.
I know, right? The same sentiment as suggesting someone go to Europe and shove American flags down the throats of people there. Go to another country and insult your hosts.... just for the hell of it. Then complain about prejudice.

The Ugly American is alive and well, and the profile has grown to include several other Nationals. And right here on our own soil. Attempting to obscure the quiet American, just going about the business of living their lives.

Happy Independence Day.

I say this without joking... 100% serious... but... I honestly see more Puerto-Rican flags than American flags in Orlando. Honestly. A cool guy that I work with (Cuban American from Miami) said that Orlando is to Puerto-Ricans what Miami is to Cubans. So, I can imagine I will only see more and more PR flags.

Moving to a country and displaying a flag of your original country in your car makes you a schmuk. If your country is so great, then why did you leave it in the first place? Neswflash: nobody cares that you're proud. Especially since whenever you travel back to your own country, all you do is act like a total tool because now you live in USA...
Here in South Florida you see so many different flags in cars, like everyone belongs to a different team and everybody talks smack about each other. The whole practice is extremely tacky, disrespectful and I believe true patriotism should go beyond wrapping yourself in a flag or transforming it into an air-freshner... but, hey, what do I know?

I did the number for rent in brooklyn versus fort lauderdale and truthfully, not much of a difference in price. At least not in the places I would want to live in either place. I also prefer colder weather (I sweat a LOT). Anyway, to each his own. If someone wants to come down here I say come on down. Just don't come down here expecting some 24/7 vacation laid back worry free lifestyle. Anyone expecting that is foolish and really is immature in how they go about making important life decisions. Come, spend time here, look at ALL aspects and then make the best decision that you think suits your needs.
You're kidding, right. What train are you talking about? The tri-rail goes nowhere. You'd have to take the tri-rial and a series of buses to get anywhere other than on the I-95 corridor. And walking, how can you walk when it's 95 degrees in the shade, or it's pouring down rain. Plus, nothing is in walking distance unless you live right downtown on Las Olas. South Florida is no longer diverse, it has been overrun by Hispanics that refuse to learn English. They are rude, poor, nasty and have no regard for the standard of living we are used to in South Florida. They keep farm animals on their propery leave grocery shopping carts all over the neighborhood and pack 25-30 family members into a 3 bedroom house, just to pay the rent. It's utterly disgusting here. I've sold my house and I'm outta here in 3 weeks. Crime is rampant and the police and code enforcement are useless.

If you couldn't even read his (relatively simple) statement correctly, I understand where you attitude towards Hispanics come from. Wild style is referring to "real" cities like NYC or Chicago, which I think more and more about leaving for every day.

Also, about 11.0% of Hispanics here fall below the poverty line. Compare that with an overall national average for all people of 13.3%. A good chunk of them live in the most "code enforcement" intensive community ever; Weston, and the nice part of Pembroke Pines has a solid second place.

South Florida tends to fall into extremes a bit too. True, there's a lot of poverty and refugees down here but there's also a lot of wealth. I know a lot of Hispanic and European Jet-Setters who live and spend their money in South Florida and impact the local economy. But poverty often causes crime and that's what impacts most people in the middle. I live in Broward, inside a gated community (with armed security personnel) and I was still broken into... twice. The second time it happened, both my husband and I were at work and I flipped out when I was notified about the break-in since there had been a couple of dog-nappings around Miramar and Pembroke Pines a few months back. Dog-nappings!

I don't know where you get your information from. Maybe that's the case in Weston, but not in the rest of Broward county. And your correct, I did misread the post about big cities, but that doesn't change the fact that Broward and Dade counties are the armpits of the nation, as well as the other cities you mentioned. I wouldn't live in any of them, but you are more than welcome to.

mostly what I hate about here is the weather, too hot and humid, IMO. the schools are generally pretty okay here in Pembroke Pines(with exceptions, of course). people aren't that rude here, but too much agressive driving, though.

Based on what I've observed first hand, if someone doesn't enjoy South Florida because of the "rude" people and minorities they'll hang themselves living in Chicago or New York. This was the first state I've EVER lived in where joggers actually facilitate a "hello" when en passant.

Being a 1st generation, non-white American, I love how white people think that they're REAL Americans.

RIGHT... Keep thinking that, just make sure you're teaching your grand-kids Spanish and Mandarin!

BTW, Florida was Native American, then Spanish. Why not move to Hawaii and complain about the natives there too? So you can feel like you're living in REAL America.

Living in your Evolution-hating, God Fearing, Bible Thumping, Gay Hating, Anti-"Illegal" Immigration, Fox News Watching, Football Loving America!

Remember, you're not racist. Just "careful".

Don't forget: Mandarin and Spanish.
