Do you speak spanish? If not that might be a problem.

If all else fails Walmart is always hiring and you would get to wear one of them awesome Smurf Blue vests with your very own name tag!

I can tell you that when I get an unsolicited resume in the mail, it goes right in the trash. If it comes in the fax it is even worse. If the person doesn't have the gumption to call me and try to at lest talk to me, then I'm not interested.

Do you really expect to find a job if your not seeking one? Careers don't just fall out of the sky, employers want to know who they are hiring before they hand them over a job...

And what do you think people are trying to do when they send out unsolicited resumes!

If you want a job, you have to go out and ask for one. Sending an unsolicited resume is just junk mail.

I'm not sending out unsolicited emails to employers, everything is from the job postings that they actually have on the web. I've even wrote individual cover letters.

The headhunters, well that went out in bulk, but all the email addresses came from email addresses provided on their webpages to submit resumes.

In Cali, thats how its done, so in Florida, I assume, it all has to be face to to face up front or via phone, right?

Also, I still have my northern Cali area code, could that be an issue?

You are going about your job search in the correct manner, its just that the Florida job market is completely in the tank. Trying to get face to face interviews with hiring managers (Like some here are suggesting) that do not have active ads is close to impossible. I would suggest you get a pre-paid cell phone for your job search with a Florida area code and see if that helps.
