I know that we are just looking for a modest priced rental property (because we still have a home to sell) but in a year, we will be looking to buy a home. I have tried to get 3 different realtors to return my phone calls/emails about locating a rental property......one emailed me last night and said that she would call me in the morning....well, it's 7 pm and I haven't heard from her. Another sent an email that she was too busy to show us houses. We are flying in to look at properties....I think that says "serious" about renting. I thought the market was slow down there...
I guess renters just don't count ... ![]() |

Maybe something to do with gas prices (driving clients from house to house) or maybe so many near foreclosure/flakey landlords that they're nervous about fiduciary relationships? Perhaps the market is so bad, the money to be made on rentals just isn't worth the time? This may be a problem unique to this market - when we have rented between houses, we never had a problem finding someone to show them to us. I'd be curious to hear what a realtor would say about this.

Just rent a apartment for a while. The people at the leasing office are always there and with renting an apartment you just deal with the leasing office so there is no need to pay the commision hungry realtors. And lets face it thats all the realtors care about most is the money.

Unless, you have pets, in which case it can be very tough to find a complex that accepts them.

Nah. Not really. Big dogs like Rottweilers and Pitbulls and German Shepards are usually a no no in apartments but regular dogs and cats are usually not an issue at all. Theres limits usually like no more then 2 dogs.

I used that when I was trying to find a place this summer, you need to remember to take it with a grain of salt because people that hate the place are much more likely to review it than people that are okay with the place. |

Basically the more expensive the apartment the safer it is and the better the residents are. I have noticed that in all states I looked in. And Im familiar with a few of the apartments that were reviewed and its very accurate. |

Good news to report. We found a very nice rental - 3/2, pet friendly, kid friendly in a very nice neighborhood with community pool and park in Plantation for $1400/mo. with only first and security required and most importantly, available IMMEDIATELY!!! So we are moving this week!
