My best friend who knows her prices buys chicken there for her 3 hungry teenaged boys. She swears by it.

I have to check it out this weekend. Like I said earlier, why pay more for the same? If I remember correctly they carry a good brand. I can't eat Perdue or Publix chicken. Their so called "greenwise" chicken is usually worse than the regular in quality and after seeing how Perdue processes their chicken, I can't do it.

And I am telling you, go to WD for their reduced meat sections. The browner, the better. Only means it's aged and cheaper and you cook off anything that you think might be questionable....

I kid, I kid...
I haven't actually encountered anyone who was "rude" just more like "impatient" as in ..... "get out of my way so I can rush up to that red light and be first in line..." (I've seen it before, I taught preschool).

I figure as a teacher, I will have the opportunity to train up future Fort Lauderdalians (hmmm....maybe it's Fort Lauderdalites) to be patient and gentle....or maybe not. One can only do their best and hope.

I believe life is all a matter of where you put your focus. You can look at everything as good or bad. Our minivan was broken into in a parking lot of a county park in Charlotte a few weeks ago. I asked my son how he was doing. His response was "I'm more than angry, I'm MAD!" I told him that I understand how he was feeling but as far as I was concerned, the thief stole our GPS and a small CD player. I wasn't going to let him steal my joy or ruin the rest of my day. Life in FL is going to be what I make of it. I can choose to focus on the negatives or enjoy the positives. When I get overwhelmed by focusing on the negatives, I will come on here and rant and rave and take a thread WAY OFF TOPIC!

WD for beef? I don't know if this true, but I heard a few years ago that Publix sells them their beef. Do you know if that's true? I do know that brown is generally good unless you are talking about hamburger.

Are there particular days that they put out the reduced meat?

Yes, WD for beef. My husband is in the food industry and knows all the meat buyers from WD, Publix, Kroger, etc. Publix does not sell WD their beef. Ideally, besides butcher shops, Costco has the best quality of meat. They are very selective as to who they buy from. If the supplier sells to WD/Publx, they don't want it.

People have been conditioned to buy the "redder" meat. Generally, it is not tender. If I was to buy meat from Publix, I would leave it in the fridge for a few days to get it browner which would produce a more tender meat.

And you are right about not wanting brown for the burger.

Not sure, I have sinced moved away from Fl, and we have no WD's here. So now I buy all my red meats from Costco.

I would just ask the meat manager, when they put out the reduced meat. I remember getting tenderloins several years back for practically nothing.
