Stay out of Hallandale unless you plan on living on A1A on the ocean OR just west of the intra coastal off Hallandale Beach Blvd.
Hollywood has some good sections. Emerald Hills and Hollywood Hills sections are good. There is temple on 46th Avenue around Taft street in Hollywood Hills section that I believe is reform. There is a fairly large jewish poplulation in the Emerald Hills section. I can think of at least 4 temples within 5 minutes driving from the Emerald Hills area. I've lived in Emerald Hills for a number of years and know the area well |

Exactly. Reform Jews live all over the county but mostly in the west half. Plantation/Sunrise and Cooper City have a particularly large reform Jewish community. The parts of Hallandale you want to live in are very conservative/orthodox and you might even find a few pockets of Hasidic Jews in Emerald Hills/Hollywood! There is a larger conservative Jewish community than reform however.

There there are 2 reform temples in the Emerald Hills / Hollywood Hills section. There is Temple Solel at 5100 Sheridan Street and Temple Sinai at 1400 46th Avenue. |

For example, my parents, who are VERY Reformed, feel really uncomfortable around the Orthodox -- it's mostly guilt and memories of being yelled at for not being religious enough (in Borough Park), but they would prefer to NOT live around there. Just pointing it out; "rona mosk" can make her own decision. Last edited by planetsurf; 08-23-2008 at 07:05 PM.. |
