Exclamation Registered Sex offenders in Davie, FL

Hello All,

I'm semi-new to the area, have been living in Davie for almost a year and I have a little girl on the way. Is there any advice that the other parents in the area could give me. I did a search and there are 46 registered offenders in my area, and approximately 3 with 5 minutes from my condo. I don't know if I should be angry, there are two elementary schools across from my condo, and legally sex offenders shouldn't live that close to minors. I am a firm believer in the saying, "you don't know what you don't know." Thanks ahead for any advice that can be given.

---M.

I never let my kids outside unsupervised no matter where we have lived. The kids had "playdates" with other kids. I always picked our kids up from school and dropped them off. By the time they could ride a bike we had moved to a small gated community and I was more worried about cars backing out of garages. Raising kids is a scary business. Now I'm worried about them driving, by themselves and with others. Next year my oldest goes to college, and I guess I'll just have to try to get over it.

just watch your kids and don't let them play alone in the front yard. If they are playing in the back...just keep an eye on them. Use privacy hedging....ficus works great to conceal your backyard. Don't freak out...there are sicko's everywhere and many of them have yet to be caught and registered !

I wouldn't be worried if I were you, at least you can identify them. It seems as if the most registered sex offenders in Davie live in the trailer parks.

After all, only half of rapes are even reported. And even if there were no registered sex offenders in your city, there could still be sex offenders.
