Sunrise
What is this area like? I know nothing about it, am just wondering what kind of environment it is; is it safe, is it young, is it familial, etc.
Can anyone give me an idea?

The number one reason is the price tag on the properties. Weston is newer and a little more pricey for some people.

Sunrise has great neighborhoods and crummy ones. Where are you looking? Be specific about the neighborhood. Give cross streets. You should not write off Sunrise as a whole but you need to be careful with the neighborhood and the schools in Sunrise.

To be honest, it depends on your nationality and your income. Sunrise has beautiful places going toward Sawgrass...if you are Carribean or Latino, you may want to live closer to University. Visit and drive all around in order to get a fair assessment. I lived in Sunrise, I liked it okay...I liked Coral Springs much better though. Hope this helps.

I live in West Sunrise in a mixed, but nice community in Welleby. In fact, I think most, if not all of west sunrise is part of Welleby. I live about 5 minutes away from the Sawgrass Mills Mall. If you stick to anything west, you should be just fine. I mean, don't get me wrong because there is no such thing as completely safe. But for the most part, west sunrise is full of families with young, older, old children. It's very family friendly with nearby parks, shopping, restaurants, museums and of course the infamous Sawgrass Mills Mall. I am very happy here with my husband and our 2 kids.
