Coral Springs Area (University: section 8, real estate, apartments)

Hey Guys,

My names Pete and i am a 20 year old student from Scotland. I have recently accepted a year internship at a company based in coral springs starting in January. The office is based on N University Drive and Royal Palm Blvd.

I am looking for advice on the most affordable and best areas i should be looking at for housing. Does anyone know of any websites or local companies that could help me to find a roommate?

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated!

ask the property association office if the area is for SECTION 8. If they tell you yes, stay away is all I can say.

I do not know of any roomate finder companies. But I can tell you about the area of N University Drive and Royal Palm Blvd. I own a house on NW 94th Avenue which I am trying to sell. It is one block East of University Drive and I used to regularly walk my dogs to that intersection and back. You could do a google search for a realtor in the neighborhood. There are a bunch in the area - some walking distance from your office location. They could probably direct you better than I. You could search for a rental on realtor.com. The zip code there is 33065. If you have checked out that area you will find that you can walk to just about everything. Which is rare in most of South Florida. From my house there I was less than a mile to my son's elementary school, Police and Fire Station, City Hall, Coral Springs Medical Center, Post Office, Banks, Doctors Offices, churches, Regional Library, Mullins Park and all its fields/courts. The Walk is a pedestrian friendly area with Starbucks, bookstore, lots of places to eat. There should be some apartments for rent close by. Renting a house near by would be pricier, but may be doable if you can locate a roomate - good luck. Look in the Sun-Sentinal real estate section on their website.
