Default Flat/Condo for rent Fort-Lauderdale, 2 bedrooms, fron january 2009

Hey, I'm looking for a flat/condo to rent in Fort-Luderdale for a couple of months. We are 2 french friends looking for a place to stay to get a job on superyachts and do a lot of skydiving, surfing, sports... I have my B1/B2 visa.
We have a $1000/1200 to spend monthly.

I was thinking of Deerfield Beach, is it good location to stay, which is the cheapest in Fort-Lauderdale ?

Cheers,
Ed
