Help finding an apt in Miramar / Hollywood / Plantation Area
hi folks
I'm temporarily relocating to FL from PA/NY in the beginning of January for an internship.. I will be there for 6 months. I'd very much appreciate any info and recommendations. I will try to give as much info as possible. I will have to set something up before moving down there and I will NOT be able to visit before january.
I will be working here:
Premier Pkwy & S Palm Ave, Miramar, FL 33025
(googlemaps comes up as Hollywood, FL also)
I'm willing to commute about 30mins each way. I'll be working regular business hours like 9-5ish so I'll have to keep traffic in mind as well.
I know nothing about the area other than what I've read on this forum.
security is a big issue - I'll be by myself and I'm female and I guess a little scared esp from some of the stuff I read on this forum so far. but I know with a gated community comes a price.. I'm honestly not making that much money, but I'm thinking I can afford up to $800/month (but prefer less) - something's gotta be super good to be paying more, like if it's furnished, short and easy commute, or close to good shops/restaurants/big park/beach.
I have two cats. and I don't mind a studio apt. unfurnished, sure. if I have to sign a one yr lease, I'm ok breaking the lease as long as it's not more than losing security / 1 month's rent.
can anyone tell me if that address is in west or east miramar? I read on a few posts that east miramar is a bad area...
Thanks in advance! I'll answer any questions that might make things easier.. I have been looking on realtor.com and forrent.com apartments.com apartmentguide.com and have come up with some and I will post them soon after some recommendations. I tried craigslist but I dont know the area well enough to get anything useful.

best site i found for home rental " buyrentfree.com"
west of i 75 is the real nice safe area family area as i like to call it
i lived in western mass before moving down here and this area is nice. miramar.pembroke pines both great area, easy commute to your work, lots of choices, being single female wont be an issue in these areas.
you didnt mention what your looking to spend, very expensive down here.
dont bother with craigs list lots of scams on there recently.
when people say east or west miramar they speak of east or west of i75. your work address seemed pretty much central maybe a lil east.

Wanna rent my townhouse?
I have a 3/2 available that i am looking to rent and would consider for a 6 month lease. Anyway this may be too big for your needs. It is listed on Craigs and it is in a good area. As you see Your local is very close to hollywood. S palm where you are working is also known as Nob Hill Rd. A nice area if you stay there but I would go North as opposed to S. West is always better than east.

so it's either Brady distribution co, Bunzel co, east florida supply chain services, Augustan wine imports, Excel construction, Argo Cargo, United Aerospace, Florida Orthopedic, RX mail order inc (pretty amazing place at night...it's own city running 24/7....hmmm....hence your user ID. lol)

Willing to commute 30 minutes? You better live within a few blocks. NO ONE has a commute that short here, if they have to get on any highway. Really, it takes a very long time to get any where and when it rains, double your time. I live 8 miles from work, and it is 40 minutes if I take the train, 1 + hour if I drive. Granted, I am in Dade, but my wife works in Broward, and it's easily as bad there.
