Default East Oakland Park Neighborhood Insight?

Hello,

I recently looked at a couple houses in oakland park. One is in the area between commercial & prospect, just east of andrews, I believe it's andrews gardens. The second is between oakland & 38th st , east of powerline, Lloyd estates.

Does anyone have any input on these neighborhoods, good or bad? I noticed the elementary schools had good ratings. I know oakland parks crime rate is high, but is that just because other areas of OP are not so nice?

I value all of your opinions.

I grew up in Oakland Park not far from the areas you mentioned. Those areas have changed for the worst over the years. Everyone I grew up with has moved out of Oakland Park. I lived not far from Lloyd Estates Elementary School.

Not sure what schools you are referring to with good ratings. The second location you mentioned was zoned for Lloyd Estates Elementary School which was a good school in the early 80s when I attended, that is not the case today.

There are many apartments in the area which equal trouble. Those areas you mentioned are certainly not the worst areas of Broward County, and any area can be what you make of it.
