It's fine, although you will have to get in your car to get something to eat. There are lots of places nearby, just not a quick walk.

If you want to stay near the Town Center, you can try TownPlace Suites on 3 Village Road. We stayed there last year and it was fine. The only place we were less than thrilled with was the Residence Inn. We booked that a few years ago because they allowed pets, but it was in need of updating. I don't know if it has had one.

Wherever you stay, take everything out of your car, and lock the doors. Car break-ins are common in Weston.

tankev is on a distinguished road
I stayed at the Hawthorne Suites in July while looking for a home. It is East of Weston Road mainly near office buildings. It does have a little shopping area with a hair salon and 2 restaurants and some other stuff stores in it's parking lot. (at least they were there in July) You will have to drive for anything else. If you want more shopping and restaurants Mattie is right, stay near town center.

Yes, there are car break ins but common sense tells everyone to lock their cars and take out or hide valuables no matter where they live. The type of crime that happens in Weston will happen anywhere. I am finding that Weston is a great, safe area for families. I have moved 5 times in 14 years to 3 different states and 5 different cities. I feel just as safe here as I did anywhere else that I have lived. And the gates here have nothing to do with it. (They are a pain in the a** if you ask me!)

Weston Art show this weekend at the town center! Looking forward to walking to it! Anyone ever been to it?

Yep....seems that everywhere has its pluses and minuses. For each of us, we have to make that decision whether the pluses outweigh the minuses. In my opinion, it's all an individual thing. These boards are great, and thanks to all for readily giving their take, but when the smoke clears and the dust settles, what may be great for one poster may be lousy for another and vice versa.

This applies so much so to Weston, to Florida, to all of America.

Weston Art Show is no more than part of a traveling band of craftsman that hit shows all over Florida. They pay for their tent and hope to sell enough above what they paid in order to make a profit. Sadly, once you've been to a couple (and I would include Las Olas, Delray, etc here), you realize you're seeing the same stuff again and again. I think the only ones who make any real money are the organizers (and the cities who sponsor them.)

Car break -ins is about the worst that it will get in Weston , other than that you will have nothing to worry about .. its is very safe here . I have a friend who is a BSO detective and he mentioned that the vast majority of items stolen from cars are due to people leaving valuables in plain sight and their doors unlocked ( duh !! ) also strangely many of the kids caught breaking into cars are from "wealthier " families in neighborhoods like Weston Hills and The Landings ... spoiled little farts I guess

It is still a cool way to spend a few hours on the weekend .. we have been to a couple and they were fun especially if you have a couple of glasses of wine at the wine bar ( Libations ) on Town Center during the event

^^^ Oh I agree. I even met my husband at the first ever Art Deco Festival in 1988. I am only negative about the ones here because I have been to a few around the country (Santa Barbara and Sedona come to mind) where you truly see some great crafts at art festivals, and I find the ones here to be disappointing in comparison. There really is a lot of tacky art at those things. Maybe I should try it after a few glasses of wine! Btw, I am obviously NOT including Art Basel in this indictment!

Live from Weston art show.

This is our first and it's fun. Many interesting stuffs but I am not sure whether I need them. The weather is absolutely gorgeous.

Haven't seen ppl drinking wine yet. But many are drinking jamba juice.
