Default commute from west pembroke pines to work in westchester

Can anyone comment on how bad of a commute this would be traveling via I75 or via the turnpike?

Thanks

Not too bad, about 25-30 minutes, 75 will be busy but moving at 70+ mph, same with the turnpike, accident notwithstanding. The hardest part is getting off the turnpike and heading east to Westchester on Bird Rd, which can be a pain. Fortunately, you won't have far to travel.

If you take I-75 to the Palmetto South bound and exit the Tamiami Trail ( SW 8 ST) it can easily take you 45 minutes to one hour in the mornings ... if you go I-75 South to the Turnpike South and then as compelled mentioned East into Westchester barring no accidents it may take a little less . Either way it is not a great commute IMO and you will immediately notice the drivers get worse as soon as you cross into Dade .

I am wondering why anyone would want to drive that distance? There is nothing in westchester except overpriced homes, strip shopping and medical offices for those on Medicare. Probably would be better to work in Broward or live in the neighborhood north oh 8 street and east of 87 ave.

That wasn't the question Tallrick. Compelled provided an accurate answer.

Go to google maps and enter the following:
commute west pembroke pines, fl to westchester, fl

You will see the results and it will also provide you with a "Live Traffic" status bar where you can change times.

Also, depending on how far west you will be, some commuters actually use 27 for their commute from west Broward to Miami.

Good luck!!

Tallrick,

In this economy, you take what job you can get. It is no time to be picky, as jobs are scarce in South Florida.

As for the commute, its not too bad. Just beware that the Turnpike will cost you $5 in tolls round trip, $2.50 each direction as you hit 3 toll booths. You can avoid tolls by taking the Palmetto Expressway, but the traffic is much worse. Unless you leave before 7:00 A.M., you are certain to hit a bunch of traffic on the Palmetto.
