That Virginia pic was awesome!

I'm also a native and have never seen snow. Yeah, I was in Miami in 1977 when it snowed. But I was not yet 2 years old--I don't remember it so therefore it does not count.

[quote=HopToIt;7711255]Most true Floridians, the very few left anyway, wouldnt want to move to a place like NY or Rhode Island anyway. They are moving to places like Northern Georgia and Tennessee, where you can get 4 seasons, and feel the cold temperatures, but nothing like what these pictures are showing.[quote]
(nodding in agreement) I'm a 3rd generation Floridian--family has been here since 1924--and I'm currently stuck here. We want out quite badly, but it's just not able to happen right now.
I just want a change. I'm tired of hot, hot and hot all.the.time.

I'm a native as well Desdemona. Not too many of us around anymore. A shame really. So many natives have left due to all the changes. But hey, places change, and people dont like the changes, so they either accept them, or they move.
Natives of places like NC, SC, and TN always get good remarks for how nice they are and so forth, and I agree, but I think native Floridians are left out of that conversation too often.

Where are your parents from Hoptoit? I've met a bunch of native Floridians and there does seem to be a difference between first generation native and natives that are second and third generations.

Oh, yeah? What would that difference be? You find the younger ones to be less friendly?

My husband is a first generation native Floridian, so no, not necessarily.
Where did you grow up?

You're right, Big difference, we get maybe 1-2 months of heat. The other months we are going through other extremes. Such as this past winter - (which seem to last longer and longer nowadays)- where some days felt below zero with the windchill factor. It was so cold that your face felt numb, and you thought you had lost your nose to frost bite only to discover that it was still there when you felt a stream of involuntary fluid coming down. Oh and let's not forget that when it rains here, you don't get it for a steady, heavy 15 minutes and see the sun - here it gets cloudy and drizzly for a week. By the time you get the sun, your eyes need a couple of days to adjust to the brightness. When it does get hot, there's no escape because our beaches are freezing and pretty disgusting imo. New York weather rocks!

I'd kill for 4 actual seasons again, cold and all.....and scenery, real scenery with hills, forests and beautiful jagged coastline.
