True, I can't wait to move up north so I can live somewhere with varied scenery not just miles of flat land interspersed with palm trees. I too am a Fla. native and I am desperate for a change. It is too much year after year of experiencing 9 months of summer. Imagine going outside in March or October & experiencing heat so extreme you need a shower after you walk the dog. I am not even talking about Aug. when the heat is so unrelenting you feel physically sick from it. No thanks, I've had enough! The fear during hurricane season is awful as well.

There is no crime in South Carolina, and no rude people either. How could this ranking possibly be true?

I like Greenville SC which borders NC. I could care less about the drug dealers shooting eachother in the ghettos of North Charleston, Myrtle Beach, or Florence. Those are the roughest areas in SC. But take those as more dangerous than some FL cities? Crazy. Greenville is hrs away, like living in Melbourne being worried about crime in Opa Locka.

I've never talked about the state of Sc anyways, I have bragged about Greenville, and for good reason.

Rude people? Some. But nicer (overall) than folks in FL? Yes. Easily. No comparison.

HopToIt .... does us and yourself favor and move to Greenville , SC please ... your posts are always negative and have no positive qualities what so ever .. we have enough problems down here with the negative vibes given off by people like you . Your posts are boring , repetitive and tiresome ... we all have the right to criticize on this forum .. I for one have my own issues with South Florida and several things that I dislike .. but I have not hijacked this forum as my personal therapy session for my miserable life .... please , please leave and may you find eternal mirth , love and happiness in Greenville .. where there are no hispanics , rude people , New Yorkers , bad weather , and sugar plums dance on your head

I will take my palm trees , lovely clean blue skies and beautiful ocean beaches over hills any day .... and March has been beautiful so far ... if you think it has been hot and humid this March then you do need to move .

It's funny, because that's one place my wife & I would consider relocating to, although I've never been there.

How's the job market? How is it for affordability?

I feel exactly the same way. I hate the heat and humidity...it always makes me feel drained, lethargic and dirty, even after just taking a shower.

There's nothing for me in Florida, particularly South Florida. I find this place far too plastic, there's little scenery and little sense of history or culture (aside from St. Augustine).

If you love the beach, if you love hot weather and endless summers and going to bars/clubs, I'd definitely recommend South Florida, as a place to live. If you want to pay no state income tax and see that as a priority, I'd recommend Florida as a whole.

However, this place just isn't for me. I long for the cold again....4 seasons, i.e. spring, summer, fall and winter. I want to live in a place that has character and soul, not some soulless urban jungle of strip malls, gas stations and cookie cutter homes.

I didnt bring up Greenville until someone pointed out how bad SC crime ranking was to me, and then another post about how there was no rude people in SC or crime in SC, obviously being sarcastic. I didnt bring it up, 2 others did.
