And yes the weather has been amazing here and in fact it has felt like San Diego for most of February and March .

Never been to San Antonio, but Austin over S FL? Umm... hell yes.

I so agree with you, Rock. I spoke with a girl recently who moved down from NYC. To me, that place with its REALLY high cost of living, incessant non-stop rush hour, and helter-skelter daily life would drive me crazy. But she said she loved it for a multitude of reasons. Were there bad things about the city? Of course - but every place has good and bad. One can either focus on the good or focus on the bad. It's not so much how bad or good a place is; it's where is your head - what you choose to focus on. And you show me someone who hates where he lives and can't stop blathering about it, and I'll show you someone who also hates his job and can't stop whining about it, too.

I agree with you .. to each his own . Personally I like South Florida a lot , but I would rather be in North Florida .. either in St.Johns County or Ponte Vedra .. but I do not post that every day on a South Florida forum .. I have said it before , many people use these forums as therapy to soothe their miserable lives .. ruining it for others .

What is exactly is the BS in Florida and in what little slice of paradise do you now reside in ?

Please explain why someone who left Florida and does not like Florida would continue to post on here ... what is it with people , what is the point ?

Talking about complaining.....

If you love the cities with the snow so much over Fort Lauderdale, I have a great idea. Why don't you choose one of these great, no-down-sides cities, and join that city-data-forum. Then you can crow every day on its forum about how great that city is and stop spending your time here, trashing south Florida and making everyone miserable about where he lives. As a result, you may find that you've suddenly stopped grinding your teeth at night, too.

Rock, as someone rightly said in an earlier post, this forum is 'personal therapy' for a few select people who had serious issues living here. Like you, I find it not only tiresome and old, but perplexing. I mean, if they had issues living here, why can't they just forget and move on? I was born and raised in the most backward, redneck-filled cess pool in the country, but I don't go to its forum and bash the place with negativity tirades. I've moved on.

I just find it so strange and depressing that people who don't live here anymore actually take time out of their day to post their negativity. But then again, I guess it's 'therapy'.

Lost .... actually I was the one with the "therapy" post ... yeah it never ceases to amaze me , the miserable naysayers on here . I originally came on this forum to discuss restaurant and entertainment options , read peoples opinions on the arts , some culture maybe , nightlife , real estate trends , job markets , crime stats , etc , etc ... all the normal things you would expect to read on a site called "City Data Forum " ... but a few have tarnished this forum and make it tedious to come on here

I have no issues with intelligent criticism and discourse .. but some spew plain hatred on here .

Default I'm soooo confused!!!!

I just wrote asking about finding a 55+ Active adult community in Deerfield Beach, or somewhere around there. My hubby and I are really seriously contimplating the move from New York to Florida. However, I've been following your writings about the pros and cons of Florida, and here in the North. I thought we had it all figured out.....WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO??? lol Help!!!! Tricia

Default yea,

The snow is great up til' January but by March the winters wear thin around here. It is beautiful though here in the north, summers hardly ever reach 90 degrees, that is the good part.

Most of my friends want as much snow as possible since they love skiing.
