Default What's Deerfield Beach like?

Can anyone please give me an accurate description of what Deerfield's neighborhoods look like and how they rate with crime and what the city offers. Thank you

Deerfield is safe and quiet. There's a lot to do, since there's other cities that offer many different things. You're close to malls, beaches, parks, and quiet neighborhoods. It's not bustling like Miami though, but it's a down-to-Earth suburb.

Sounds pretty good, I do not feel comfortable in war torn ghettos or over the top affluent neighborhoods, I prefer nice, average places so DFB could work

If you're looking at single family homes that are safe and quiet, I highly suggest you look into Waterford Homes. It's a nice neighborhood and very family-oriented. I love that neighborhood. Deer Creek is nice too (another neighborhood), but it's slightly more affluent, but still low-key. You really can't go wrong anywhere in Deerfield. Just stay away from the areas adjacent to Dixie Highway, they're a bit sketchy, but that's about it. Deerfield's great.

Default You seem to know about Deerfield Beach

My husband and I are looking to retire to Florida in the near future. We heard there was a nice 55+ adult community in Deerfield Beach. We're lloking to buy, not rent. Do you know anything about it? We're in our early 60's, but in our heads we're still 35. I'd love to find a place that would take my dog....a small Schnazer, but I've been told that most of the 55+ communities don't allow dogs. We're not looking to swing from the trees, but we do want a place with activities. We have friends younger than us, and some a few years older. However, I would love to live in an ACTIVE adult communitiy, where the residents were closer to our ages.
I'd appreciate any assistance you can give. Thanks
