Default Moving to work in Weston

Hi all
I'm moving to Weston by the end of June. I'm looking for either townhouses or single family home. What are the areas I should avoid? I am sure this has been addressed before but would like to have an updated view. I don't want my commute to be more than 20 minutes. I will be working at the Cleveland Clinic.
If I will rent a family house, how would I know that the mortgage has been paid on time and there are no issues with foreclosures?
Thank you.

There is nowhere to avoid in Weston, or anywhere within 10 miles of Weston, for that matters. That being said, Weston is probably the best area to look at. Bonaventure area has more affordable options (Coconuts, San Remo, etc) and other parts of Weston have more upscale.

can't go wrong with any part of Weston... closest Townhomes to the CC are probably San Simeon...

There is one rental apartment complex , on the corner of Weston Road and Indian Trace that I heard bad news about when we lived in Weston .. some care break ins and many teenage wannabee gangstas ... I do not recall the name ... other than that all of Weston is very nice .

Sorry to hijack the thread, but can someone tell me what are the best rental communities in Weston? We looked into Fairlake, Weston and St.Andrews.

There are car burglaries and teenage wannabe gangstas in Windmill Reserve as well. Nowhere is immune. That complex is called Fairlake at Weston.

First let's start with Weston zip codes which are 33326, 33327, 33331, and 33332. Go to realtor.com and select "Rent" and enter the following : Fort Lauderdale 33326, 33327, 33331, 33332 - this will result in all available rentals in our area.

As the others have said - there are no bad areas in Weston. Welcome and enjoy your new job at Cleveland Clinic.

Other good zip codes close to Cleveland Clinic but not in Weston...33325 (Davie, Sunrise, Plantation), 33323 (Sunrise, Plantation), 33324 (Davie, Plantation), 33028 (Pembroke Pines), 33330 (Davie), and 33328 (Davie, Cooper City). I live in 33326 and the area has a highh concentration of affordable, quality rentals. As far as finding out if your landlord is paying the bills, well, I'm not sure of the website, but I believe there is an area on the Broward County property appraiser website where you can find that information, but I'm not too sure. Maybe someone else can chime in? Unfortunately, that is one of the biggest challenges of renting outside of an apartment complex.
