Please help an out-of-towner.

I'll be in town on business (staying at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood) and have never been to the area. My 20-something stepdaughter is driving down Friday night from Ocala. I need suggestions for dinner. Nice, cool, interesting, but not break-the-bank.

Thanks.

Westin Diplomat has some nice restaurants on premises. Hollywood Prime is a nice steak house there.

Nope, I don't know that one, but I am not in that area often enough.

But... what do you think about Russian cuisine? There is a quite a place a couple of blocks away called Tatiana. Great food, they just keep on bringing it and bringing it. And they have an interesting show.

One time I went it was OK.

You can take a ride South to Sunny Isles, there is Trump Sonesta hotel there with some really nice restaurants.

For the price you pay in there, it should never be just 'ok'.

Take a ride about 2 miles north to Hollywood Beach. There is a nice boardwalk, nice to take a walk and find someplace with an ocean view and decent food. Alternatively, I would go to downtown Hollywood, only a little farther away. My personal favs there are Nakorn (for Thai), Sushi Blues, Lola's, and Argentango. There are lots of other options and is nice to walk around.
