Are there any school for this down there? Is it a good industry to get into. It's kind of difficult up here in NJ and my husband is interested in the field

Before it became Miami College, Miami-Dade Community College had one of the best programs in the nation. I don't know where things stand today. Try checking some of the funeral homes down here such as Hunters Funeral Home (there are many others). They can at least give you some insight.

And, yes, to my understanding it is a decent field. Good luck.

My wife recently was offered a sales position with one of the larger funeral home chains in the area and turned it down mainly because it was straight commission and would've required a lot of car travel. Because she would have been selling burial plots among other things, the job would also have required a Florida real estate license (paid for by the company). Not sure if that's the type of job your husband is looking for, but the funeral home chains in South Florida (Fred Hunter's, Kraeer and Levitt-Weinstein are among the most prominent) do seem to be hiring.
