I can't say why it is like that. I have no clue. i just know, its a real problem. S. Florida doesn't seem to have a real sense of community. At least I have never experienced it here so that could also play a role.

true but i wouldn't want my kid to go to a predominately all hispanic school, can you break down the minority percentage?

What is the problem with predominantly hispanic schools?

Falcon Cove 47% Hispanic
Cypress Bay 44% Hispanic
Gator Run 38% Hispanic

American Heritage 22% Hispanic.

If you don't want your child to attend a school with a large hispanic population stay out of Weston (where many of the best rated public schools are located).

i just took a quick look at elementary schools in Broward that have 90% or more of their students making gains in reading. Here they are along with their minority percentages:
