Going natural isn't that hard. I did it years ago. I had to give up being blonde, but with a little henna my light brown hair is gorgeous! I learned to make hair care products from basic kitchen supplies and have to say my hair has never looked better and I know I'm not supporting an industry that uses advertising to influence us to coat our heads with carcinogens.
but other than a haircut now and then i do it all at home. . . no salon. . . but i have seen salons that CLAIm to be natural. When i read their ingredients it is clear that they are not any such thing. although they may be an improvement on standard fare

Never heard of henna. How does it work? I also don't dye my hair but what do you do with conditioners? I actually use Cholesterol which is an ethnic product but works great for any kind of hair.
I hate dying my hair, I'm gonna go crazy the day I get grey hair, unless there is a way to hide it with natural products.
OP I don't have any suggestions, I go to regular hair salons too, but I hope you make the change, it's much cheaper and less time consuming.

I cover grey with Henna. I have it all around the edges, but with henna on my brown hair, the grey looks like strawberry blonde highlights. the disadvantage to henna is it is a commitment, if you dye over it, your hair will break.
I used to use Cholesterol too. But it is actually pretty toxic.
It is very high in Estrogens, and suspected by some of increasing breast cancer risk.
sorry

Anything with parabens has estrogen, so most all make-up, moisturizers, conditioners, hair-dyes and some shampoos and soaps have it too. Really challenging stuff to avoid. I did it successfully for about 6 months and then gave up. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it were to be found that it was the abundance of this stuff in our products that accounted for the huge upswing in breast cancer over the last 30-40 years.

and yet our govt allows this crap in our products. Europe wont even allow most of our cosmetics into Europe int he state they are sold here in the states for that very reason.

true, fauve. and i have been avoiding parabens since the early new millennium, but the cholesterol estrogen ethic hair products are in another class altogether, the estrogen levels are super high
the one called cholesterol with placenta is the most shocking, from what i recall

this is a bit off topic, sorry. the cholesterol product is not something i see listed here, but i have seen it related to these products in a presentation and some lists. . .
personally, i use eggs, olive oil and some well made products that don't use xenoestrogens to condition.
and henna is very conditioning
