Smile Area of Florida where we can do what we do in NJ?

My Husband and I are checking out areas of Florida where we can live on a golf course, be an hour from a casino, be within an hour of a beach, have nice restaurants around. We've tried the Jupiter Island area and it's too quiet for us. Would prefer gated community within half an hour from a major airport. We like to ride bikes also. Here we ride on the Boardwalk but haven't seen Boardwalks in Florida. We're open to other States , as long as they have golf weather in the winter if anyone has a suggestion.
We are 55 and 65. Thanks for any info!

Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens seem to fit the bill (minus the boardwalk).

About an hour to Hard Rock Casino, three major international airports, PBC is the golf capital of America.

Also, there may be some areas in Western Broward that have golf course living.

There are golf course communities all over West Broward. You would be within 10-20 minutes of the Hard Rock Casino, the Hollywood Broadwalk and the airport. Look at Weston Hills CC in Weston, Grand Palms CC in Pembroke Pines, and Lago Mar & Jacaranda CCs in Plantation for starters. You have a ton of options and price ranges.

Don't rule out Miami Beach. There is a boardwalk along much of the beach, primarily in the North Beach section. There are also golf courses, country clubs, and you are within 30 minutes of MIA airport, and within an hour of FLL airport and the Hard Rock hotel and casino.

Try Weston but don't move here expecting NJ.

I lived in South Jersey (Washington Twp) for 11 years. South Florida is totally different than New Jersey. This might be why so many people from Jersey move here. They want change. I don't find it better or worse, just different. There are casino's here but not like AC. Still fun though. The boardwalks in Jersey are bigger and have more shopping but you cannot beat the South FL Beaches. According to your post, Weston does fit what you are asking for; Gated, bike riding, close to airport and 1/2 hour from beaches and casino's. Weston has a lot to offer for every age group. As you can see from the posts there area many good choices for you to look into. Good luck on your quest!

I would have to agree - Weston is the closest. But, here too, don't move thinking it's NJ.

Agree with previous posters... I moved to FL a couple of months ago from NJ so don't expect NJ when coming down here... totally different.

You wouldn't find anything like the NJ boardwalks down here.

Also Weston has a beach of a different kind right in its backyard - the Everglades.

And on the other side of the Everglades there is Naples. It is only a little longer than 1 hour to get there. Makes for a nice day trip.
