Default HELP!!! Hotel Transportation in Fort Lauderdale!

My husband and I are flying into Fort. Lauderdale. We would like to stay in Miami for one night then leave for our Cruise the next day. Our problem is how do we get from Fort Lauderdale to Port of Miami? Does any one know any hotels in Fort Lauderdale who offer service to the Port Of Miami? Or a service that is SAFE that does? How far is that? I am just scared to death of Taxis. You hear so many bad stories about tourists and taxi drivers. Any body have any ideas?

Thanks

To my knowledge there are no hotels in Ft. Lauderdale that offer service to Port of Miami.

There is also no problem in taking taxis here. I can't remember the last time I heard of any problems with taxis and tourists.

You can always take a private car service... here is a link to one of them.....

A taxi ride from Fort Lauderdale to Miami will cost you an arm and a leg.

There is an airport shuttle you can take from Ft. lauderdale airport to Miami International. There are also shuttles from Miami International to Port of Miami. And depending on what hotel you are staying at in Ft. lauderdale, they probably have a shuttle that takes you to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. So you can take 3 connecting shuttles.

Another option is to take the Tri-Rail train from Fort Lauderdale down to the Miami Metro-Rail system which will take you into downtown Miami. You then switch at the Government Building station and switch onto the People-Mover line in downtown Miami which is another elevated rail system. The people-mover will take you to Bayside and the American Airlines Arena where you can exit and pick up a short cab ride into the port.
